Beautiful decoration and friendly service. The shower was very spacious and we had a good view from the window. The hotel is located in a great area, close to many attractions and landmarks. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and the fact that we could park our car easily.
The towels provided were too small and the toilet had stains on it. , when we asked for help finding a place to eat, the owner was not very helpful and we had to figure it out ourselves.

Helpful and pleasant staff, kind to non french nationals.
No in room tea making facilities for early mornings and late nights, but I understand this is general for most hotels in France unlike GB.

Hotel Le Richelieu is the best surprise of Saujon and the region of Royan. What a wonderful hotel, with very nice, clean and comfortable rooms. Very good beds en a well equiped bathroom with the best shower. Breakfast is good, with enough choice for everybody. The owner and people who work at Le Richelieu are extremely nice, they make you feel at home right a way. The hotel is situated just 3 minutes from the route national to Royan, Saintes, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, etc. and the beach is just 15 minutes away. We will definately stay there again!

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. the location was perfect for us as it allowed us to explore a new area and discover hidden gems. The hotel itself was a gem too, with its attention to detail and charming French decor. The staff were friendly, providing top-notch service and making us feel welcome throughout our stay. We were pleasantly surprised by the value for money, as the prices were very reasonable for what we received. The rooms offered a stunning view of the front, and we loved waking up to such a picturesque sight. And let's not forget about breakfast - it was absolutely delicious and a great way to start each day. We couldn't have asked for more.
Nothing to fault about this hotel - everything was perfect.

Management was friendly and helpful.Room was nice, clean and modern. Restaurant next door, which is run by hotel owners son,is a bit expensive and O.T.T.[over the top]. but the food was good.
This quiet location was fine for us but,it is about 10k from a town with a selection of restaurants and places to see.

It's new, it's modern but as a 'boutique hotel' it's facilities are on the small side....the bed, the room the bathroom etc!
Location is very centre of a 'one horse town' that's lost it's horse!

Title: Amazing Time with Friends!
The only thing we wished for was a bit more nightlife nearby. We love to party and have a good time, so it would have been epic to have some fun clubs or bars close to the hotel.

I had a fantastic stay at this charming hotel in the heart of a real French town. The owners were incredibly helpful and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The attention to detail in the beautifully furnished rooms was impressive, and the spacious shower room with a strong shower was a real treat. I also loved the fact that the hotel was conveniently located in a new area, with easy access to restaurants and other amenities.
Nothing to fault, everything was great.

Superbly fitted in very modern style, comfortable and light, easy free parking. Excellent associated restaurant next door, not cheap but good value and very pretty food, the locals where eating there and had bothered to dress up !
Could not work out until the morning how to turn the aircon off - stand immediately under the unit and press the red button. The town is a bit sad and unfinished in its renovations.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we experienced incredible customer service. Despite limited English from Madam ( and limited French from me!) she made us comfortable and welcome. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. However the reason we chose the hotel was to experience the restaurant after reading the incredible reviews. It seemed impossible that the restaurant would meet our expectations, but it exceeded them! Nine people, with ages from 11 to mid 60's, all ate a fantastic meal. The chef came and chatted to us, the waitress was delightful and the meal was the highlight of our lovely weekend. I would love to return!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was small, but comfortable, and had a good view of the front. The hotel itself was well decorated and clean, giving it a lovely contemporary atmosphere. The shower was a standout feature, as it was incredibly spacious. The lady who owns the hotel was absolutely lovely and very helpful. The location was also great, as it was only about 20-30 minutes away from the beach and nearby attractions like Cognac. I would definitely stay here again if I visit the area.

Very easy to find although once you have visited Saujon you would understand why. A very sleepy going nowhere town. Hotel is modern & very clean & great location if you want to be out of the busy Royan hustle bustle. The difference being light and day as Saujon has little to offer apart from quiet location
Good stopover but as I was staying 2 nights it was 1 night too many!

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel was located close to a lot of restaurants and bars which made it easy to find things to do. The breakfast was good, and there was a decent amount of variety.
The hotel lacked any sort of ambiance or festive spirit for New Year's Eve. The staff didn't seem particularly interested in making the night special for guests.

We had a very warm welcome and the rooms have been very nicely furnished in muted tones. The shower room was spacious with a good strong shower. We could have the air contioning/heater on or if the noise (very quiet) was a nuisance we could use an alternative heater. So the owners were very attentive to our comfort.
